The news was confirmed to the media by Serhii Beskrestnov, a technology expert and adviser to the Ukrainian president on technological issues, better known as “Flash.”

According to him, the warhead explodes above the ground and is specifically designed to cause maximum damage to people and equipment across an area measuring 400 by 400 meters.

He also explained that 58 submunitions explode simultaneously in midair.

“This strike was not carried out for a military purpose. The aim was to destroy part of the old town and injure as many people as possible. We have many injured civilians and widespread destruction,” Beskrestnov said.

According to the Union of Orthodox Journalists, the Vvedensky Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was damaged during overnight shelling of Kyiv, with debris tearing off part of the monastery’s roof.

Two parishioners were injured.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia had fired 21 missiles at the capital overnight.

“The shelling took place immediately after talks between representatives of the United States and Russia. This means there has been no real change in Moscow’s attitude toward peace initiatives,” Zelensky stated.

On the night of October 22, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine using ballistic missiles and 210 drones, while air defense forces intercepted 181 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Kyiv was the main target of the attack, with one person killed and more than 20 injured. Damage was reported at the Epicentr shopping center in the Pochaina area and at the Southern Bridge, which was closed to traffic heading toward the left bank of the Dnipro River.

The consequences of the attack were also reported in Kremenchuk, Vinnytsia region, Kharkiv, Odesa, Volyn region, and other parts of the country.
