New research shows silver anomalies over 7 g/t, and the Tisovik mining project is becoming one of the most promising polymetallic targets in the region.

About 30 kilometers from Valjevo, in the Tisovik area—a former lead and zinc mine located between the Medvednik and Bobija mountains—the latest soil analyses and drilling results have revealed widespread silver anomalies with peak values exceeding 7 g/t Ag, as well as lead, zinc, and antimony, reported Australian media, according to eKapija.

Analyses indicate that these anomalies extend along a geological belt roughly five kilometers long, open to the north and previously untouched sectors. This suggests the potential for further discoveries and additional metal resources, making Tisovik one of the most promising polymetallic targets in the region.

The company plans to continue an intensive exploration phase, which includes additional soil sampling, geophysical surveys to map underground formations, trenching, and drilling to confirm the continuity and depth of mineralization, as well as expanding the field team to carry out parallel work at multiple sites.

During the 20th century, the Tisovik mine in Yugoslavia was known for the extraction of high-quality lead and zinc, while silver and antimony were not then considered significant metals.

As the portal reminds, by acquiring the Australian firm Konstantin Resources last September, Middle Island Resources became the owner of 14 mining exploration licenses in Serbia, covering 62,000 hectares—more than any other company in the country.

The Bobija licenses, as previously announced, are the focus of the company’s exploration efforts, primarily aimed at gold and copper, but also targeting silver, lead, and zinc.

The Australians had already started drilling at Bobija in October, announcing that the old barite mine on the mountain contains as much gold and silver as the Vareš mine in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By the end of the year, they had discovered continuous mineralization of gold, silver, lead, and zinc in multiple drill holes, with intervals reaching over 50 meters. The best intersections reportedly include zones with around 1 to 3 grams of gold per ton of ore.
