Vučić in Ada: New investments coming to Kikinda; Nakovo–Mokrin road a top priority

During the visit, he will tour companies and farms and speak with residents about the issues they are facing.

Vučić visits Adica public company

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić visited the Adica swimming complex in Ada as part of his visit to the North Banat District.

Vučić said that greater investment in tourism would help attract more visitors.

“People are looking for things to do. A nice bed and nature are not enough; people also want somewhere to spend their time. For them to stay somewhere for several days, there needs to be hiking, swimming, cycling, cultural activities and everything else. This is one of the ways people can spend money here,” Vučić said, noting that visitors come from across the region, particularly Romania.

He said everything was functioning well and that the complex looked great.

The Adica Public Recreation Company was built in 2022 with the support of the Provincial Government and the Ministry of Tourism.

The outdoor pools were renovated this summer, while the swimming season officially ended on September 1.

A private investor is currently building a hotel that will be physically connected to the wellness center.

There is also a project for a water park, with an estimated construction value of 250 million dinars.

The Adica Wellness Center features a children’s pool, a non-swimmer pool, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and a jacuzzi.

Vučić in Ada: School and road projects to be completed

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić arrived in Ada, where he addressed local residents before visiting the Adica public recreation company.

He said work on the local primary school should be completed, along with several kilometers of roads.

“We’ll get started on that immediately. As for Ada, we built a wellness center, but what’s missing is a water park, which would cost €2 million. If we do that, Ada will attract many more tourists, not only from the district but also from Belgrade and other cities,” he said.

He also said sewage and water supply remain problems, but that work will be carried out to address them.

Vučić visits Artis 1973 company in Rusko Selo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić visited Artis 1973 in Rusko Selo, a village in the municipality of Kikinda.

The company’s key products are oat and protein bars, made using locally sourced ingredients. Its market covers all of Serbia, while it also exports to seven countries. The company says inquiries from major firms and the requirements of the IFS food safety standard present challenges.

Vučić said the state could provide up to €4 million in non-refundable funding to help build the facilities the company needs.

The plant currently employs 15 people, and Vučić said businesses like this are vital for Serbia.

“Small companies like this are precisely what Serbia needs, because who would employ people in Rusko Selo? They would have to travel elsewhere for work,” Vučić said during his visit. He added that he comes to such visits fully prepared, including with an estimate of how much state funding can be allocated to support facilities like this and create jobs.

He added that the state would also provide additional assistance to the Artis 1973 plant in Rusko Selo, which he visited.

“We will provide additional support so that it can keep these 15 people employed and try to increase the workforce to 20, allowing more people from the village to find jobs,” Vučić said.

Vučić begins North Banat visit, announces new road projects

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić began his visit to the North Banat District with a tour of Artis 1973 in Rusko Selo, a village in the municipality of Kikinda.

A large number of residents welcomed Vučić in Rusko Selo, along with representatives of Artis 1973, a confectionery manufacturer.

Addressing residents before his tour of the company, Vučić announced investment in local roads and highlighted the importance of building the Nakovo–Mokrin road, as well as starting the second phase of the reconstruction of Kikinda General Hospital.

Vučić said the hospital reconstruction is planned to cover around 16,000 square meters, while the construction of a sewage system is expected to cost €1.2 million to €1.3 million.

“We will immediately begin work on the 3.8-kilometer road from Nakovo to Mokrin and complete it, you can count on that. We will soon begin the second phase of the hospital in Kikinda. It will cost a lot of money. We are talking about the reconstruction of 16,000 square meters, plus another 6,000 square meters that we need to build,” he said.

Speaking about transport infrastructure, he stressed the strategic importance of completing the “Smile” highway, saying the project in this area could be completed within six to seven years.

“It cannot be done sooner because of the section through Sombor, followed by Srbobran, Bečej and then Kikinda. Even more important is the Belgrade–Zrenjanin motorway, followed by a high-speed road to Kikinda. This will make it easier for residents of all the villages to reach the motorway more quickly,” Vučić said.

He also spoke about problems facing Kikinda’s industrial sector, saying the state is dealing with issues involving MSK and Toza Marković.

Vučić also said the state would support Artis so that the company can employ more local residents.
