Vučić: "For the first time, I'm optimistic that the NIS issue could be resolved in September"

“For the first time, I feel optimistic, and I hope that we could resolve the entire NIS issue in September. Without a certain level of understanding from OFAC and the U.S. side, it would have been difficult to keep the situation under control without major consequences and to get this close to a final resolution,” Vučić said at the Innovation and Education Park of the Mine Action Center in Velika Moštanica, where he attended a presentation of deminers’ work on projects to clear unexploded ordnance.

He stressed that Serbia is open to cooperation in all other areas, particularly energy, including key issues concerning oil, gas and nuclear energy, adding that further talks on these matters are still ahead.

“It is certain that during my visit to the United Nations General Assembly’s regular session, I will also hold a number of meetings with American businesspeople and politicians, with the aim and hope of further improving our cooperation and doing important things for our two countries,” Vučić said.
