BELGRADE The B92 Fund and Serbia's ministries of Trade and Telecommunication and Internal Affairs have teamed up for a project to promote safer internet. The project - dubbed the Safer Internet Center - is aimed at providing information to children about the possible risks of online communication, and at preventing online abuse of children. B92 Fund joins project for safer internet The contract was signed by Trade Ministry's State Secretary Tatjana Matic, B92 Fund Managing Board President Veran Matic, and Assistant Minister at the MUP Zeljko Kojic. According to experts, one in three girls and one in seven boys worldwide are victims of pedofilia, and the situation is not much different in our country. 15 persons were arrested last year on pedofilia chargfes, while criminal complaints were filed against 63 suspects. Serbia's law envisages punishment of up to ten years in prison for persons who sexually abuse children. Those found guilty of exploting children for pornografic material or showing such meterial can expect a range of penalties, from money fines to imprisonment of up to eight years.
