Vučić from Abu Dhabi: "Bin Zayed hosted me at the new National Museum; only Macron had been there before me"
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić addressed the public from Abu Dhabi, where he will participate in the panel “Partnership and Cooperation in the Field of Energy” as part of Sustainability Week 2026.
At the beginning of his address, Vučić said that he had a good discussion with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"An exceptional conversation important for Serbia. We discussed all areas of social life—energy, further development of the renewable energy system, their investments in our country. We also talked about other projects, such as Belgrade Waterfront, as well as the military-technical agreements we have. By May, we will also have a new open flight route between Belgrade and Abu Dhabi. We discussed the geopolitical situation, as well as NIS. I listened to and understood the President of the UAE’s advice regarding the preservation of peace and stability and how important that is. I had the special honor to be hosted at the National Museum, where only Emmanuel Macron had been hosted before me. We had lunch there. It was a great honor and privilege for Serbia. He is a sincere friend of Serbia. I believe that on various issues we had good and important discussions," Vučić said.
Regarding Serbia’s situation from 2012 until now, Vučić mentioned that last night he spoke with the President of the European Council, António Costa.
"He knows I am in Abu Dhabi and asked me to greet my friend Bin Zayed. Our position would be more difficult if we did not have such great friends. Apart from hatred, little grows on the political scene, and there is not much to see," he added.
