President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, arrived in the UAE today to pay tribute to the late ruler, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, it is confirmed to Tanjug.

Vučić will personally express his condolences to the new UAE leader Muhammad bin Zayed El Nahyan, Belgrade media report.

During his stay in the Emirates, Vučić will talk with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed El Nahyan about expanding cooperation between the two countries.

"Saddened by the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and proud of the sincere friendship that Serbia and I have with the new President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. I am especially grateful to #MBZ for the important political advice he provided me and full openness of our Emirati friends for the further development of bilateral relations between Serbia and the UAE", reads the Instagram post.

Numerous world officials, including French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, traveled to the UAE to pay their respects to Khalifa bin Zayed Nahyan.

Khalifa bin Zayed Nahyan passed away on May 13 at the age of 74, and he was the ruler of Abu Dhabi and the president of the UAE.
