NOVI SAD Novi Sad Mayor Igor Pavlicic says it is not politically reasonable to destabilize the situation in Vojvodina because of the new government. He stressed that the ruling coalition was pressuring Novi Sad and other towns and municipalities in Vojvodina. United Regions of Serbia (URS) leader Mladjan Dinkic and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) announced earlier that the ruling structures in Vojvodina would change. He stressed that the current local-government would do its best to keep the post-election coalition because the citizens’ interest was their main priority. “The political will in Vojvodina was clearly expressed at the elections for all levels of the authorities and the fact is that the Democratic Party (DS) won the majority of votes in the province, just like our presidential candidate,” the Novi Sad mayor said and added that he was sure that the current city authorities were stable. SNS Novi Sad Board President Milos Vucevic said on Friday it depended on the Socialists whether the city’s ruling structure would be changed. The DS has 18 seats in the assembly, LSV 15 while the SPS-led coalition has seven.
