FM attends multilateral meetings in Turkey

Serbian FM Vuk Jeremic will visit Turkey on Tuesday, where he will take part in two multilateral meetings in Istanbul, the Foreign Ministry stated on Monday. On Tuesday, Jeremic will attend the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, and is to take part in the meeting of foreign ministers of Council of Europe (CE) member countries on Wednesday, the release states. FM attends multilateral meetings in Turkey Jeremic should also have a series of bilateral meetings with ministers attending the two conferences, the Ministry stated. An international conference on assistance to poorest world countries should be organized this week under the auspices of the UN. The conference will last five days during which competent officials would assess the work done over the last decade and prepare a new assistance program for the poor. The conference, chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, would be attended by heads of state and prime ministers from 50 countries and 70 foreign ministers and deputies, as well as a great number of businessmen and representatives of international organizations. Foreign ministers of 47 CE member countries will meet in Istanbul on Wednesday, and the meeting will be chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, the CE posted on its website. Officials at the meeting will also discuss the CE policy of good neighborly relations and a report on life together in the 21st century, which was authored by a group of prominent figures including Head of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence NGO and President of the Foreign Policy Council at the Serbian Foreign Ministry Sonja Liht.
