Opposition MPs today in parliament criticized War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic for his handling of the Kosovo organs case. Serb Progressive Party (SNS) MPs demanded on Thursday Vukcevic's resignation after his comments regarding the report on KLA's trafficking of organs taken from kidnapped Serbs in Kosovo and Albania, submitted by Council of Europe rapporteur Dick Marty. War crimes prosecutor criticized SNS MP Dragan Sormaz said Vukcevic should resign because of his statements that Serbia should not interfere with the investigation following the report, and that there is no point in raising an indictment against Kosovo Albanian Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, since he is out of the reach of the Serbian authorities. Thaci is named in the report as the head of the organization in charge of organ trafficking. "Prosecutor Vukcevic is not only incompetent and unworthy of his office, but he has also shown he is not independent either," Sormaz said addressing parliament. The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) MPs also criticized Vukcevic's statements, stressing that they hurt national interests. DSS whip Milos Aligrudic asked what the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor intended to do about the organ trafficking case, and called on government officials to stop making statements that went against national interests.
