Bosnian Federal TV reporter Bakir Hadziomerovic is adamant that the footage of Ratko Mladic, broadcast two nights ago, is no more than two years old. "The footage shows his granddaughter born in 2001 and his grandson born in 2006. In the clip of the village, you can see a girl, already grown-up, sitting in his lap, that’s his granddaughter... So, there’s no way the clips can be more than 8 years old,“ he told Sarajevo media, in response to Belgrade’s claims that the footage was at least 8 years old. Bosnian journo adamant: Mladic footage recent Asked if he had any proof that the video of Mladic having a snowball fight with his wife and daughter-in-law was from last winter or this winter, the reporter replied that he did, without wishing to give any further information about his sources. “All Belgrade’s denials and insinuations are to be expected, as what else can you expect from authorities where Mladic has been living freely for the last 14 years,“ said Hadziomerovic, who, on Wednesday, screened amateur footage of the war crimes fugitive in Serbia and one video of him at a wedding in East Sarajevo, all filmed over the last 12 years. Hadziomerovic labelled as “excessive“ the claims of Rasim Ljajic, chairman of the Serbian National Council for Cooperation with the Hague, that FTV had screened the footage in a last-minute attempt to sway Holland in its decision to lift the visa regime for Serbia and call into question Belgrade’s cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. “I have no reason to give any further explanation to people about what they’ve seen on their TV screens, and about who the person is they’ve seen living it up these past few years. I wouldn’t be surprised if they accused us of staging the whole thing,“ said the channel’s political editor. He did not wish to reveal how he had come upon the footage, which lasts over an hour, and in which Mladic appears in shot for over 50 minutes. (FTV)
