PRISTINA - Kosovo Prime Minister Hasim Taci expressed the belief that the Brussels agreement would be implemented. Taci expressed the belief that the Brussels agreement would be implemented and called on Serbs to go to the local elections scheduled for November 3. Taci: Brussels agreement will be implemented In an interview for Radio Television of Kosovo, Taci renounced the accusations voiced by Belgrade that Kosovo is jeopardising the agreement implementation by its attitude, and qualified this statement as false. He said that the realisation of several important agreements has already begun, such as the shutdown of police stations in northern Kosovo, and added that reception of individuals wishing to join the Kosovo police would be launched soon as well. Taci stated that visible progress has been made in certain areas, but there are also some delays. Still, he expressed the belief that the situation would improve in the next few weeks. He noted that the municipal elections on November 3 are a good chance for northern Kosovo Serbs to get integrated into the Kosovo society. Serbian officials notified Brussels, the U.S. and OSCE that Pristina is trying to impose Kosovo's statehood in the implementation of the agreement reached on April 19, despite the accepted principle according to which all solutions need to be status neutral. Contrary to the agreement, Pristina printed the ballots with the logo of the Republic of Kosovo and set the condition according to which only citizens with Kosovo ID cards can vote in the elections. This violates the voting rights of the banished and displaced Kosovo-born Serbs who are currently living outside the province. Secretary General of the Serbian government Veljko Odalovic warned on Friday that Pristina is trying to impose the statehood of the self-proclaimed independence of Kosovo in the implementation of the solutions in judiciary, integration of security structures into the Kosovo police and the negotiations on telecommunications.
