Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller will be in Serbia on Tuesday for meetings with top officials, unofficial reports suggest. Energyobserver website says that Miller will meet with President Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, to discuss further cooperation between Gazprom and the Serbian energy sector. Gazprom chief in Belgrade next week According to the same sources, one of the topics may easily be the future privatization of Serbia's oil monopoly NIS, since Gazpromneft, one of Gazprom companies, looks like a favorite to buy the state-owned giant. However, Gazpromneft is interested in a majority acquisition, which is contrary to the currently valid NIS privatization strategy.
