Deputy PM: Government should have done more

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Verica Kalanovic says that “the government failed to implement important reforms in many areas”. She has assessed that “both governments solved some issues quickly and efficiently and some issues unacceptably slow”. To do everything to help raise their standard and provide more jobs. We should provide social protection to the poorest and not allow any social group to be seriously hit. We should help the economy overcome the post-crisis period,” she pointed out. Kalanovic added she would like to see a pre-election coalition between the United Regions of Serbia (URS) and Rasim Ljajic’s Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS). She stressed that Ljajic was a prominent politician who shared URS’ positions, goals and principles and that his party would be a “natural political partner”.
