"Serbian Army, KFOR cooperate well"

Over the past three years, VS and KFOR have made daily joint patrols along the line, all the while exchanging data, which thus far gave good results.

The most common criminal activities they face are illegal crossing and smuggling of foreign citizens heading for the EU states.

A VS officer, Major Jovica Stanković, said that prevention of illegal crossing was very frequent, as both KFOR and Serbian military catch at least one person a day trying to illegally cross the line.

“A joint goal of the Serbian Army and KFOR is to secure peace and security for people living on both sides of the line,” he added.

Colonel Harold Sveen from NATO-led KFOR commended the improved cooperation with the VS.

“Our successful collaboration has an immense influence on establishing secure environment in Kosovo,” Sveen said.
