Status will end strife of Serbs

“Above all, Kosovo’s final status will end the insecurity and strife of the Kosovo Serbs and Serbia. It will free Serbia of its mythological burden and open the doors for real politics and economic development.” Ceku said.

He said that Kosovo is doing everything it can to help Serbia.

“We agreed to a postponement of the final status decision after the general elections in Serbia in January. That is our way to say that we support a democratic Serbia.”

Ceku said that the region needs a European-oriented Serbia in order to make progress and so that the international community would be freed of the “burden of having to intervene.”

“Recognizing Kosovo independence will close the dark chapter of the Balkans’ history and create an opportunity for a new and sustainable regional security. This, for America and the world, represents a chance for a new and successful foreign political story.” Ceku said.
