Minority Council gets no say

Niko nije zatražio mišljenje, niko nas nije konsultovao, pa ni ministar prosvete Slobodan Vuksanović, i mi o svemu ovome saznajemo iz medija.

“No one ask for our opinion, no one consulted us, not even Education Minister Slobodan Vuksanović, and we found out about this from the media. It would be fair to at least ask with one sentence what our opinions are and whether anyone has any suggestions, if we want to build partnerships. This is necessary in order to be genuine partners, to actively play our role in the National Council which has been determined by law.” Ana Tomanova Makanova said.

The changes to the Education Law which the Serbian Government has sent to the Parliament for urgent discussion and ratification looks to allow minorities to be schooled in their native languages as well as in Serbian, and enables the use of both domestic and imported learning materials.
