Mercator has announced that it will open a new shopping complex worth EUR 25mn in Nis at the beginning of March. According to local media, the Nis shopping center will be built on 23,000 square meters of land and will employee 700 Nis residents. Mercator invests EUR 25mn in Nis location The center will be of the same quality as Mercator’s location in Ljubljana and more modern than the facilities in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Cacak, reports said. Besides the Mercator supermarket, there will be 54 stores which were rented out last year already, and according to estimates, the city budget will receive EUR 2.2mn from communal taxes. Mostly construction company’s from Nis participated in the building of the shopping center the Slovenian retail giant built in the southern Serbian city.

The center will be of the same quality as Mercator’s location in Ljubljana and more modern than the facilities in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Čačak, reports said.

Besides the Mercator supermarket, there will be 54 stores which were rented out last year already, and according to estimates, the city budget will receive EUR 2.2mn from communal taxes.

Mostly construction company’s from Niš participated in the building of the shopping center the Slovenian retail giant built in the southern Serbian city.
