Former President Bill Clinton said Friday his wife has asked him to stop talking about her misstatement about a trip to Bosnia.

Former President Bill Clinton said Friday his wife has asked him to stop talking about her misstatement about a trip to Bosnia. Bill Clinton brought the matter up this week during a campaign appearance in Indiana. The ex-president spoke at a rally in Booneville, the New York Daily News reported. Bill Clinton blames press for wife's Bosnia gaffe "There was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it -- what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995," he said. "Did y'all see all that. Oh, they blew it up. Let me just tell you." He blamed the press, saying reporters had acted as if Hillary Clinton had "robbed a bank." Bill Clinton gave his own version of the facts, the News said, not saying that his wife had given her vivid account of landing under sniper fire in Tuzla, Bosnia, several times. Hillary Clinton subsequently acknowledged her mistake and said she landed, accompanied by her daughter, Chelsea, in a peaceful Tuzla where children presented her with flowers.
