The Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), its clergy and Orthodox Serbs are today marking Good (Great) Friday. The religious holiday commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, and is marked with somber services in all Orthodox churches and temples. Liturgy is not celebrated on this day. Serbs observe Good Friday Good Friday is considered to be the saddest day for Christendom. Orthodox Christian observe a day of strict fasting, and color Easter eggs, most often red, to symbolize the blood of Christ. Beside the Serbian, the Russian Orthodox Church and the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, commemorate Good Friday and Easter according to the same calendar.
