Drug addiction in Belgrade on wane

In the last two years, the number of registered drug users in Belgrade has fallen, the City Health Department reports. According to figures from the Institute for Public Health up to December 31, 2007, four of every 1,000 citizens is a registered drug addict. However, the Institute of Public Health warns in its report that information on drug addicts is based only on data on addicts who have sought medical help. The report sees this as “only the tip of the iceberg in tackling drug addiction.”
