The remains of some 60 victims found in Lake Perucac will be sent for autopsy to the town of Visegrad, in eastern Bosnia. The Bosnian Missing Persons Institute President Amor Masovic said the victims were Bosnian Muslims from Visegrad, killed in the 1992-95 war, and that they would be identified in this town's morgue. Autopsies for bodies found in lake Reports on Wednesday also said that Masovic stated there were indications that there was also a group of German soldiers who were buried near the lake's shores during WW2, while their remains might have ended up in the lake as the shore eroded when a dam was built nearby in the 1960's. The lake is situated on the Drina River, which forms a border between Serbia and Bosnia. On the Serbian side of the lake, where in 2001 several dozen bodies of Kosovo Albanians were found, investigators from missing persons commissions from Belgrade and Pristina are also searching the area. Serbian officials said earlier this week that the first remains recovered from the lake were not human, and that the bones found on Tuesday were being analyzed. The searches on both shores of the lake came as the water level was lowered due to repair works on the downstream Bajina Basta power plant facilities.
