The Montenegrin government expects to receive a final offer from the Greek-Israeli consortium Aktor/Shikun & Binui for the Bar-Serbian border highway. The consortium was ranked second in the tender to build the highway, with its offer stating the price at EUR 3.92bn. Highway consortium to be chosen After negotiations with the first-ranked Croatian consortium Konstruktor failed, the Montenegrin government turned to the Greeks and Israelis. However, reports said that it was "not very likely" that they would reach agreement on the construction of the 170-kilometer-long highway due to the high price. On the other hand, the Croatian company has recently announced that they were ready to start the construction since they have, allegedly provided bank guarantees for their own capability to finance the project. The company has offered to build the highway from Bar to Boljare for EUR 2.87bn.
