European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn has handed a European Commission questionnaire to Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic. This is a mechanism through which the European Commission will evaluate Montenegro's readiness to receive EU candidate status. Rehn hands Djukanovic EC questionnaire Speaking at the handover ceremony, Djukanovic promised that the Montenegrin administration’s answers would be “reliable and high quality,” as this would define the dynamics of receiving an evaluation of Montenegro’s readiness. Rehn said that this was an important milestone for Podgorica towards the EU, and that quality and efficacy was very important in giving answers to the questionnaire in order for the European Commission to be able to give an accurate evaluation of the situation. The questionnaire includes 2,178 questions covering 368 pages. The handover ceremony was attended by legislative, judicial and executive government officials, university officials and representatives from the diplomatic corps.
