Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Monday received a letter from Chinese President Xi Jinping, the president's office has announced.

"Sino-Serbian relations are in an excellent trend of development and communication between the two ruling parties thus has a significant and leading role in deepening understanding and trust and encouraging bilateral cooperation in all areas," Xi wrote,"China and Serbia share a long tradition of friendship, and the two states are important and reliable strategic partners. High-level visits have been exchanged at a more dynamic pace lately, political trust is growing and cultural exchange and cooperation is very active," the Chinese president said, and added:
"Serbia actively participates and has a leading role in building the Belt and Road project,m as well as in Cooperation 16+1, it has achieved rich results in mutually beneficial cooperation, and practical cooperation between the two sides brings concrete benefits to our nations. "
He also emphasized that he attaches great importance to the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Serbia.
"I attach great importance to the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Serbia, and I want to make joint efforts with you, so that the two ruling parties have a bigger political and social leadership role, strengthen the exchange of experience on governance in order to contribute to the development of relations between our two countries and building a common future for mankind ," Xi said.
