He said that the state "knows well what it's doing - and we certainly and in no way will envelope our state in barbed wire and various fences and walls."

Citing the conclusions from the meeting, Selakovic said that the Bureau "appeals to citizens to, in the coming days, bearing in mind the big events and dignitaries who will be coming to Serbia, have a high level of tolerance and understanding toward relevant state authorities as they provide security measures."

Selakovic said that the Bureau concluded that "relevant security services, particularly intelligence, will drastically step up their activities and in closer cooperation with judicial authorities provide all the measures necessary for full operational control in order to protect people and property in the territory of Serbia."

The Bureau "analyzed the state of security and stability in the Republic of Serbia as well as possible reactions and all measures of protection in case of potential terrorist acts, and decided that all target groups that may be potential perpetrators or accomplices to crimes with greater consequences for a greater number of people in Serbia should be completely defined."

According Selakovic, it has also been concluded that every kind of religious fanaticism of a militant character should be "completely nipped in the bud."

The Bureau decided to establish "closest possible cooperation with all intelligence and counter-intelligence services of friendly countries," Selakovic said.
