PM receives U.S. ambassador, gets "greeting card from Obama"

As the Serbian government's press office said, Vucic and Kirby discussed several topics relating to Serbia's future, in economic terms in particular.

The U.S. backs the efforts that the Serbian government has been investing in improving the financial situation and gives support to the fight against the grey economy, the U.S. ambassador said.

Vucic and Kirby discussed foreign investments, especially by American companies Esmark and Delphi, noting that they can help keep jobs and create new ones in Serbia, and thus contribute to the country's economic future.

The talks underlined the importance of Serbia's EU path, and Brussels dialogue for further advancement along that path.

The officials noted that the prime minister's visit to Kosovo on Wednesday carries special importance.

They underscored how important is Serbia's role for regional stability, primarily that of Bosnia-Herzegovina, as progress is vital for the future of all peoples in BiH.

The Serbian prime minister and the U.S. ambassador discussed last week's tragic events in France, and agreed that joint efforts need to be invested in the fight against terrorism, and that Serbia plays a key role in the fight against terrorism and foreign fighters in the region and beyond.
