Speaking to reporters before the meeting with Vucic, Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the historic visit demonstrates the friendship with the people of Israel.

"We can do much more and your visit will serve the purpose of improving our cooperation, " the Israeli prime minister said.

In the coming years, we can preserve our years-long friendship and we will make a serious investment into our relations, Vucic said.

In the field of the economy and politics, we can expand our cooperation to the industry, agriculture, the IT sector and security, Vucic said.

"We do not forget friends who have been with us in the hardest of times, such as the May floods, and the aid sent to us by Israel at the time - we will always seek peace and find specific ways of cooperation between our two countries, " the Serbian prime minister said.

Vucic thanked his counterpart for Israel's position of not recognizing Kosovo, the Serbian government's press office said in a statement.

In the morning, Vucic also visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial complex.
