NOVI SAD First Deputy PM and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Aleksandar Vucic has said that the SNS respects Vojvodina's autonomy and the Constitution. He added that the SNS would not let anyone “play separatist games”. We won’t allow separatist games, first deputy PM says “As if Serbia has few problems and it is now necessary, for no reason, I guess because some director not to their liking was chosen somewhere, to try to make a crisis in the north of Serbia as well,” the first deputy PM told Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik. He noted that the SNS had won convincingly in Vojvodina’s town of Kovin and added that it was interesting that citizens thought that most media were trying to hide it. Vucic said that the Democratic Party (DS) had won 26 percent and the SNS 18 percent of the votes in the previous elections in 2009 while the Progressives won 42.43 percent on Sunday while the SNS-Liberal Democratic Party-Serbian Renewal Movement won only 9.04 percent. “Maybe it is a coincidence and maybe it does not reflect citizens’ will but it would be better for some to think about their own legitimacy instead of thinking about raising political questions that either do not exist or nobody feels any need for them,” he explained. Vucic stressed that no party had had such domination, advantage and power among the people since 1990 like the SNS and added that the Progressives wanted to use the power to do something good for the citizens.
