Albanian border police arrested Self-Determination Movement activist Naser Shatri on Serbia’s warrant on Thursday. Shatri, a former member of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), was arrested at the border crossing Chaf Prussi, but he was released after two hours, the radical ethnic Albanian movement announced in Pristina. The Albanian Interior Ministry had to give a special order for him to be released from custody, the release reads. The Self-Determination Movement underlined that they could not understand why the Albanian authorities should act on any warrant against the national liberation fighters. The movement called on the Albanian police to ignore and not to execute the indictments and warrants against the former KLA members and voiced belief that this incident would remain an isolated case which happened due to technical reasons and that it would not become a common practice. Shatri is wanted by the Serbian police on suspicion of being involved in illicit weapons, people and tobacco trafficking.
