Leader of SPS Ivica Dacic stated that Serbia should pursue a policy which would not force the country to choose between the EU and Kosovo. He added that such a policy requires that the largest political parties reach an agreement. Serbia should not be made to choose between Kosovo and EU At a meeting of the Belgrade board of the Serbian Socialist Party (SPS), Ivica Dacic said that Serbia has to protect its interests but also has to join the EU, and pointed out that policies which go against either of these two options are wrong. These days, there are those who support Serbia joining the EU no matter what, and those who are equally fervent in their stand against it, Dacic said and added that both concepts are wrong. The SPS leader, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stated that Serbia should find common interests with the leading countries in the international community, which means both those that nurture friendly relations with Serbia and those that are hostile to it.
