Interior Minister Ivica Dacic confirmed that his family is being protected by police personnel around the clock because of threats coming from mafia groups. “That is how it is when you have to deal with people who have lost a lot under the sanctions of the police institutions,” Dacic said. The daily said that the Interior Ministry has increased security for Dacic’s family because of this. Press also writes that members of criminal groups visited his hometown of Zitoradja in July, where they asked questions about the every day activities and habits of the minister's parents, who still live there. These suspicious persons were also noticed several times in June walking around the schools which Dacic’s children attend, and his wife has also received threatening messages on her private phone number, the daily added.
