MUP special forces in joint drill

Two of the MUP special units and its elite Zandarmerija (Gendarmerie) on Wednesday staged a joint exercise on Mt. Goc near Kraljevo, in central Serbia. A total of 244 officers from the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ), Counter-Terrorist Unit (PTJ) and Gendarmerie on Wednesday took part in the drill, dubbed Rasina 2009. Goc for a demonstration of the preparedness of the Serbian police (MUP) best units. Tadic commented on the drill by saying that it demonstrated that the state and its police are ready to meet all the security and terrorism challenges. "This proves that our state is not only capable of establishing order and peace in its own territory, but can also be a factor of stability in the region," the president said. President Boris Tadić, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković, Speaker Slavica Đukić-Dejanović, Interior Minister Ivica Dačić, other state officials and foreign diplomats were also on Mt. Goč for a demonstration of the preparedness of the Serbian police (MUP) best units.

Tadić commented on the drill by saying that it demonstrated that the state and its police are ready to meet all the security and terrorism challenges.
