Kosovo’s president and PM have announced the names of the first 4 Kosovo ambassadors—to the U.S., UK, France and Belgium. The ambassador to Brussels will be lawyer Ali Kryeziu, who worked at the former Yugoslavia’s consulate in New York in the early Eighties. Kosovo appoints first ambassadors Avni Spahiu, the head of Radio Kosovo, has been named as the ambassador to the U.S.; Muhamed Hamiti, a presidential adviser, will be the province’s representative in the UK, while in France the job will go to Muhamedin Kullashi, a professor at the University of Paris. In addition to these four countries, Kosovo will soon be opening other embassies in Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey and Albania.
