Obstruction in journalist death case "question for others"
Stefanovic told reporters in Belgrade that he cannot provide an answer to the question "who for years obstructed the investigation - because it is a question for those who were in power during previous years, and who need to say why they did not do their job.""Our job, and what I did, is to uncover murders from 13, 15 years ago, to shed light on these cases and to achieve the result of - although far from ideal - 2015 being the year with the least number of homicides in the last 20 years," said Stefanovic.
He added that this testifies to "the better work and prevention done by the police."
As for the Vujasinovic case, Stefanovic said he "does not want to come out with information that's in the hands of the prosecution so as not to disrupt the investigation," but added he was "confident that the prosecution too will make a statement about the case, which has been going on for too long."
