Former RBV officials remanded in custody

The Special Court in Belgrade has remanded three former Development Bank of Vojvodina (RBV) in custody up to 30 days.

BELGRADE The Special Court in Belgrade has remanded three former Development Bank of Vojvodina (RBV) in custody up to 30 days. Police arrested former Board of Directors Presidents Srdjan Petrovic and Biljana Jovanovic and former Corporate Business Secor Director Slobodan Bajin on Saturday on suspicion of incurring damages worth RSD 2.5bn to the bank. Former RBV officials remanded in custody Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic told Tanjug that the Prosecution had ordered an investigation against the suspects. The three suspects were questioned on Saturday. Radisavljevic said that the three suspects and Dusan Borovica, the owner of ten transportation and road maintenance companies who was arrested earlier, were charged with abuse of office. They are charged with approving 28 loans and 16 banking guarantees to Borovica’s companies that did not fulfill the necessary requirements, thus violating the law and the bank’s regulations. Former RBV officials remanded in custody

Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljević told Tanjug that the Prosecution had ordered an investigation against the suspects.

The three suspects were questioned on Saturday.

Radisavljević said that the three suspects and Dušan Borovica, the owner of ten transportation and road maintenance companies who was arrested earlier, were charged with abuse of office.

They are charged with approving 28 loans and 16 banking guarantees to Borovica’s companies that did not fulfill the necessary requirements, thus violating the law and the bank’s regulations.
