Marko Milošević will have a retrial for the assault charges against Otpor activists in May 2000, after the not guilty verdict of his last trial was overturned.

Marko Milosevic will have a retrial for the assault charges against Otpor activists in May 2000, after the not guilty verdict of his last trial was overturned. The Pozarevac Municipal Court nullified the verdict finding Milosevic, the son of late President Slobodan Milosevic, not guilty of the brutal beating of Momcilo Veljkovic, member of the anti-regime group. Marko Milosevic to face trial again The district court also called on the municipal prosecution to state whether it will take over the case against Milosevic. Presiding over the District Court is Judge Nada Hadzi-Peric. Veljkovic found out about the ruling today, on the anniversary of Slobodan Milosevic’s death. Veljkovic, Nebojsa Sokolovic and the late Radojko Lukovic, all filed charges against Marko Milosevic and his associates because of the injuries suffered on May 2, 2000 in front of a café in Pozarevac. Milosevic was freed of the charges by the Pozarevac Municipal Court in June of last year, as were his friends Sasa and Milan Lazic, Bojan Tadic, Milan Bajic and Zoran Ivanovic, a.k.a. Roleks, as well as the three Otpor activists Sokolovic, Lukovic and Momcilo Veljkovic, who were accused of participating in the brawl. Milosevic was also accused of violent behavior.

The district court also called on the municipal prosecution to state whether it will take over the case against Milošević. Presiding over the District Court is Judge Nada Hadži-Perić.

Veljković found out about the ruling today, on the anniversary of Slobodan Milošević’s death.

Milošević was freed of the charges by the Požarevac Municipal Court in June of last year, as were his friends Saša and Milan Lazić, Bojan Tadić, Milan Bajić and Zoran Ivanović, a.k.a. Roleks, as well as the three Otpor activists Sokolović, Luković and Momčilo Veljković, who were accused of participating in the brawl.

Milošević was also accused of violent behavior.
