Exhumation of a secondary mass grave uncovered in Zvornik, eastern Bosnia, is set to continue. Thus far, 35 bodies and the incomplete remains of 250 victims of the Srebrenica massacre have been found at the grave site. The grave site is the largest uncovered thus far in the area, and contains remnants of clothing and other household items buried along with the bodies. A team of experts from the Tuzla prosecutor’s office and a federal missing persons commission started exhumation of the Kamenica 9 grave site on October 22, and according to the prosecution, work is expected to last another two weeks. Secondary grave sites are places where victims’ remains have been buried in one grave before being subsequently relocated.
