Raspberry farmers and municipality of Arilje representatives will today meet with Agriculture Minister Dusan Petrovic to discuss raspberries price. Dissatisfied raspberry farmers from Arilje have been protesting for three days. Raspberry farmers to meet with agriculture minister Even though they earlier announced that they would break through police cordon and go to Belgrade at noon if the government did not meet their request, they have put their plan on hold until the meeting with the minister is finished. Vilamet Raspberry Farmers Association and municipality of Arilje representatives will hold a joint meeting with the agriculture minister in Belgrade at 17:00 CET. The farmers have announced that future of their protest will depend on the meeting’s outcome. They pointed out that they were not the ones blocking roads and traffic and that the police were doing it by not allowing them to continue their trip to Belgrade. The raspberry farmers requested that Agriculture Ministry representatives that they had been unsuccessfully negotiating with in the past several days do not attend today’s meeting.
