The EBRD is considering giving a loan to Serbian Railways worth EUR 100mn for the restoration of Corridor 10 routes. The money would also serve to buy 15 new locomotives and spare parts. EBRD considering loan for railways According to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the value of the project would be EUR 296.4mn, and the bank would secure EUR 100mn of that sum, while the European Investment Bank (EIB) would provide the other EUR 150mn. It was stated that the EIB would deal with financing the modernization of the railways from Belgrade to Novi Sad, which make up a key section of the Corridor 10 route. (FoNet archive)
