Skundric said that the government has secured a relatively high exchange rate for the dinar, foreign and financial liquidity, and relatively satisfactory internal financial liquidity, along with discipline. Energy Minister: Crisis under control “As one response to the financial crisis, public works were opened on the road infrastructure, which will increase in intensity during the fall of next year, along with the starting up of a strong investment cycle in the energy sector,” Skundric said. He said that this will enable “a stronger Serbian economy, stop the unemployment rate from increasing, and open several tens of thousands of new jobs.” Skundric said that Serbia is achieving strategic partnership and strengthening good relations with the Russian Federation through energy infrastructure projects, such as the fuel-gas arrangement, but added that relations with other European countries, such as Italy, are also improving because of this activity. “In the energy sector, we are building and will continue to build strategic relations with countries of the region, EU countries, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and we are creating special partnerships with China as well,” Skundric said. The Energy Minister said that Serbia chose to strategically focus on the energy sector and opening new investment opportunities, which have been the largest they have been in the last 30 years, adding that improvements in the distribution of energy products and the transport infrastructure are also of top priority.
