Minister for the Diaspora Srdjan Sreckovic says now is the right time for the diaspora to invest in Serbia. He "announced the beginning of a new era in the relations" between the home country and the Serbs abroad, with a more responsible and committed approach of the Serbian state institutions towards them. Pointing out that Serbia's economic cooperation with the diaspora has not been at the suitable level so far, he said that Serbian citizens from abroad have invested about USD 500mn in the SME sector, creating around 20,000 jobs.
