BELGRADE The Serbian Army (VS) personnel taking part in a UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon are carrying out their tasks professionally and successfully. This is what representatives of the VS said they learned while visiting the region. Serbian peacekeepers "doing good job" in Lebanon The Serbian members of the UN mission are tasked with conducting daily patrols and activities at checkpoints around Gadjar, the village straddling the line separating Lebanon from Israel. Visiting the VS peacekeepers were Commander of the VS Land Forces Lt.-Gen.l Aleksandar Zivkovic and Chief of the VS Peacekeeping Operations Center Col. Milivoje Pajovic. During the three-day tour of the operations zone and places where Serbian Army infantry members are deployed, Zivkovic got acquainted with our soldiers' current living and working conditions. The Serbian platoon commander, Cpt. Milos Todorovic, told General Zivkovic that the Serbian soldiers are healthy and safe and are carrying out all their tasks as part of the Spanish Army peacekeeping battalion in a professional manner, according to the VS website. Besides in Lebanon, members of the Serbian Defense Ministry and of the Serbian Armed Forces are taking part in UN peacekeeping missions in Congo, Cyprus, Liberia and the Ivory Coast.
