Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social that Tehran must agree never to possess nuclear weapons and that the Strait of Hormuz must immediately be reopened to unrestricted maritime traffic in both directions, without any transit fees.

“Iran must agree that it will never have nuclear weapons or a bomb. The Strait of Hormuz must immediately be opened, free of charge, to unrestricted shipping traffic in both directions,” Trump wrote.

Trump further stated that all sea mines, if any remain, must be removed. He added that U.S. forces had already removed or detonated numerous mines with the help of what he described as “great underwater minesweepers.”

“Iran will complete the immediate removal and/or detonation of all remaining mines, of which there will not be many,” the U.S. president posted.

According to Trump’s statement, the American naval blockade will now be lifted, and ships that had been trapped in the strait due to the blockade may begin departing.

“Say hello to your wives, husbands, parents, and families from me, your favorite president,” Trump wrote.

“Nuclear dust”

Donald Trump spoke specifically about Iran’s enriched material, referring to it as “nuclear dust.” He claimed that it is located deep underground beneath nearly collapsed mountains following a U.S. strike by B-2 bombers 11 months ago. According to Trump, the material will be excavated by the United States in close coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

“The enriched material, sometimes referred to as ‘nuclear dust,’ will be excavated by the United States, which, according to the agreement, is the only country alongside China with the mechanical capability to do so, in close coordination and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, plus the International Atomic Energy Agency, and destroyed,” he wrote.

Trump added that no money would be exchanged for now and that other matters described as “far less important” had also been agreed upon. At the end of the post, he said he was heading to the White House Situation Room to make a final decision.

“I will now meet in the Situation Room in order to make a final decision. Thank you for your attention regarding this matter! President Donald J. Trump,” he posted.
