“He would like to help. I told him, before you help me, I want to end your war (in Ukraine),” Donald Trump said in an interview with CNN.
Trump said the conversation with Vladimir Putin was “very good” and that a solution to the conflict in Ukraine would come “relatively quickly”.
Regarding his intention for the United States to remove Iran’s stockpiles of enriched uranium, Trump said that Putin told him during the conversation that he would like to be involved in issues related to enriched uranium.
“He can help us get it,” Trump said.
Moscow had previously proposed taking control of Iran’s stockpiles of enriched uranium.
Trump did not explicitly rule out the possibility today that Iran could transfer its uranium to Russia, but suggested that he is more interested in resolving the war in Ukraine.
“I’ve known him (Putin) for a long time. I think he was ready to make a deal some time ago. I think some people made it harder for him to make a deal,” Trump concluded.
