Trump negotiates with Iran’s “hidden leader”; Here are 15 key points
Trump stated that he is negotiating with a “respected Iranian leader” whose identity he does not wish to reveal, that 15 key points have been agreed upon, and that the U.S. will “simply continue bombing” if the deal fails.
“We are negotiating with someone at the very top. Don’t forget: we wiped out their leadership in the first, second, and largely in the third phase. We wiped out everything. But now we are dealing with a man whom I believe is the most respected and who is the leader,” said the U.S. president, refusing to name the individual.
Trump explicitly emphasized that they are not negotiating with the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
Moreover, the U.S. president said that he does not know at all whether Khamenei is alive, that he “has not made himself known,” but added that he does not want him to be killed.
“If they hadn’t called, tomorrow morning their time we were supposed to blow up their largest power plant, which cost over $10 billion to build. Why would they want that? They called us; I didn’t call them,” Trump said.
The U.S. president revealed that there are currently “about 15 points of agreement” between the two sides.
Key details of the potential deal:
No nuclear weapons
Seizure of uranium
Unblocking the Strait of Hormuz
Speaking to reporters before boarding the presidential plane, Trump said: “If everything goes well, in the end we will resolve this.”
He added: “Otherwise, we will simply continue bombing as much as necessary.”
Regarding Iran, he said that “they really want to reach a deal, and we also want to reach a deal.” He added that they will “probably connect by phone today.”
He also mentioned “partners in the Middle East” and later said that they are “also taken into account in the discussions.”
U.S. President Donald Trump addressed reporters at the airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, making a series of unusual and surprising claims about negotiations with Iran.
15 Points of the Negotiations
Although Iran officially denies that any negotiations are taking place, Trump claims that it was the Iranians who initiated the call because they wanted to avoid a U.S. strike on their critical infrastructure.
“We Will Continue Bombing if Negotiations Fail”
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the conflict with Iran could be resolved, but warned that the United States will continue attacks if negotiations fail.
