New wave of attacks; Tankers burning in Iraq; Trump: "Time to take control of the Strait" VIDEO
The conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States has entered a new day with exchanges of attacks across the region — missiles and drones are striking targets in the Gulf, while airstrikes on Iranian territory continue.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said he is 'considering taking control of' the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime route for global oil shipments'.
He added that Washington, D.C. is in “very good shape” in its conflict with Iran and that the United States will “monitor the strait very closely,” which, he said, is “in excellent condition,” Reuters reported.
The war between Iran and the United States has raised the stakes for the global economy, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that it could block oil shipments from the Persian Gulf if U.S. and Israel attacks do not stop.

Explosions near Basra: Two foreign tankers hit, one person killed
Two foreign tankers were hit by explosions near the Um Qasr port in the Iraqi city of Basra, resulting in one fatality, authorities said. The head of the General Company for Iraqi Ports stated that 38 crew members from the ships were rescued, while one person was killed, BBC reported.
According to ship-tracking websites, the two tankers suspected of being attacked are surrounded by rescue boats. The cause of the explosions has not yet been officially confirmed. An initial investigation by Iraqi security officials indicates that boats loaded with explosives from Iran struck the tankers, Reuters and CNN reported.
A British maritime observer said they had received similar reports, while the Iraqi State Organization for Marketing Oil expressed “deep regret” over the incident. Authorities stated that operations at all terminals in the port have been suspended due to the event.
