According to the British Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the third ship targeted in today’s attacks was also hit by an 'unknown missile' while located about 50 nautical miles northwest of Dubai, CNN reported.

There were no injuries among the crew in the incident.

Earlier today, a second cargo ship was hit by an unknown missile, causing a fire, and the crew was evacuated. It is unclear who fired the missile, and the ship requested assistance while the crew was evacuated, according to The Guardian.

Earlier, another cargo ship was also hit—reportedly by an unknown missile—about 46 kilometers off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.

According to a UKMTO notice, a total of 13 ships in the region have been attacked since the beginning of the conflict.

Tankers have not been passing through the strait for over a week due to threats from Iran to target each of them, forcing operators to halt operations while storage tanks are being filled.

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to escalate the war with Iran if the country blocks oil shipments from the Middle East, while simultaneously predicting a swift end to the conflict.
