Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that if the conflict in the Middle East does not stop soon, it could escalate into a world war.

“If someone does not quickly stop the war in the Middle East, it could last a very long time and turn into a world war,” Zelensky said, according to Ukrinform.

He assessed that the world is very close to a new world war.

“We are very close. I do not see how the operation in Iran can be quick. I see more global challenges. If the war is not stopped by autumn, it will last a long time,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president added that Russia could sooner or later send its units to assist Iran.

“Technically, the world is not ready for this. Europe is not ready, except for individual countries. The Germans are very fast, but that is not enough. There is not enough time to prepare for such challenges this year,” Zelensky concluded.
