The United States of America has no intention of endlessly negotiating Ukraine, State Department representative Tammy Bruce said in an interview with Fox News.

"I think it is important for our European partners to hear this as well - we will not negotiate for a year. We will not hold meetings for the sake of meetings. We will not wait, hope and make enormous efforts just for the sake of efforts, while we are facing the final phase of the war - a ceasefire, which can be achieved immediately," said Bruce.

This statement comes at a time when Western allies are seeking to redefine their approach to the Ukraine crisis, in light of increasingly frequent demands to find a way out of the conflict that has lasted for more than two years.

Previously, US President Donald Trump said that Washington will leave the negotiation process on Ukraine if any side tries to sabotage it.

He pointed out that America does not set specific deadlines for reaching an agreement, but expects rapid progress.

At the same time, the State Department states that the upcoming agreement between the United States of America and Ukraine in the field of natural resources is not part of the peace process and has nothing to do with the ceasefire negotiations.

"This is completely separate. It is not part of the ceasefire negotiations. It is not an element of the agreement that would stop this disaster. It is something that is important for Ukraine and, of course, it is an issue of economic partnership," Tammy Bruce explained.

She emphasized that the US is thereby showing support for Ukraine's economic recovery, but added that this process should not be confused with diplomatic initiatives for a ceasefire or the achievement of lasting peace.

The administration of US President Donald Trump is ready to recognize Russian control over Crimea as part of a proposal to help end the war with Ukraine, CNN reports, citing an unnamed official familiar with the matter.
